What are WoW Raids, current raids in WoW 2026

Introduction
When a player reaches the maximum level in World of Warcraft, character leveling ends — and endgame begins. It is at this stage that the main content of the game opens up. Raids occupy a special place in this process and remain a key goal for most PvE-oriented players.
In this article, we will discuss what raids are in WoW, how they work, and what their main difficulty is. We will also take a look at the upcoming raids in WoW Retail at the moment, so that you can understand where to start and what new players or players returning after a long break should prepare for.
What are raids?
The basic concept of raids
Raids in World of Warcraft are PvE content designed for teams of 10-30 players. The number of players may vary depending on the difficulty level selected. The main goal of this content is to defeat all bosses, each of which presents a unique challenge that requires adaptation. In addition to equipment progression, raids often play an important role in the development of the expansion’s storyline: this is where key events in the story are revealed, answers to accumulated questions are given, and the current storyline is brought to a conclusion. This is one of the most difficult activities in the game, requiring preparation, knowledge of mechanics, and coordinated teamwork — which is why some players resort to WoW raid boost if they cannot master the content on their own or want to speed up their progress.
All Raid Difficulties
In WoW Retail, the raids come in several difficulty modes, and you will have a choice of the format that fits best your skill level of players. The difficulty of the raid chosen directly influences the equipment and the rewards that you can get. The higher the difficulty, the higher the item level of the items and the more unique rewards you can get — from achievements and titles to cosmetic items and mounts:
Raids are available in the following modes:
- Story Mode — the simplest mode with an incomplete set of bosses, which allows players to familiarize themselves with the main storyline and does not give any rewards.
- Looking for Raid (LFR) — the simplest format for random groups. It provides basic equipment with the lowest possible ilvl and allows you to familiarize yourself with the raid and the storyline without serious character requirements.
- Normal — is the starting level of organized raiding. It provides higher-quality loot and requires an understanding of the bosses’ basic mechanics.
- Heroic — is an increased difficulty with additional mechanics and stricter requirements for execution. Here, players receive significantly higher item level gear and the opportunity to obtain a mount.
- Mythic — maximum difficulty with a fixed group of 20 people. In addition to top-tier equipment, Mythic raids often offer exclusive rewards: unique mounts, rare weapons, or special cosmetic items that are not available at lower difficulty levels.
Problems that arise during raids and their possible solutions
Players have to cope with several problems: they should learn complicated bosses, have a proper level of equipment, properly assign roles in the group, and remain concentrated over long distances. It is also complicated by the fact that individual participants make mistakes, the new recruits lack experience, it is hard to find a stable team, and limited time to develop. This is particularly evident when it reaches high difficulty where even minor errors may cause wipes and drag the raid back. In such situations, many players resort to World of Warcraft raid boost.
WoW raid carry service is a universal solution for any raid, allowing you to get gear, achievements, and progress without a long search for a group. For the most difficult encounters, there is WoW mythic raid boost, focused on completing Mythic raids and obtaining exclusive rewards, mounts, and rare weapons. This approach saves time and helps you focus on enjoying the game.
Raid content, which is coming soon
Future WoW Retail raids
Developers are preparing to launch the new Midnight expansion with three major raid experiences for players, which will continue the storyline of the feud with Xal’atath and open new chapters in the story. When the expansion launches, the raids The Voidspire, The Dreamrift, and March on Quel’Danas will appear. This is a great time to try your hand at raids, return to the game after a long hiatus, or make a pre-order for WoW raid services to complete them.
The Voidspire
This is the largest raid on this list. It will be located in the new Voidstorm location and is a battle in the Fortress of Xalathat. The location has two floors where 6 bosses will be divided:
- Imperator Averzian
- Vorasius
- Fallen-King Salhadaar
- Vaelgor & Ezzorak (Twin dragon duo)
- Lightblinded Vanguard (Lightblood, Bellamy, Senn)
- Crown of the Cosmos (Xal’atath confrontation atop the Voidspire)
Dreamrift
A raid in which players enter a strange rift between dreams and reality to battle the creatures that have arisen at the border between worlds. The battle takes place in southeastern Harandar. Unlike the previous raid, players only fight one boss called Chimaerus, but that doesn’t mean the battle will be easy.
March on Quel’Danas
The last of the main raids in the upcoming update. The raid is located north of Silvermoon City and will revolve around The Sunwell Plateau and its corruption by darkness. The raid has two boss fights: Belo’ren, the Void Phoenix, Midnight Falls (battle with Dark Naaru L’ura. The dungeon structure consists of two floors, most likely with one boss per floor.
All of the raids listed will give you the opportunity to obtain unique rare mounts at mythic difficulty, tier tokens, and equipment from level 219 difficulty.
Raid difficulty release schedule
Unfortunately, the raids will not be released simultaneously with the expansion, but will require some time after release. Normal and Heroic difficulties will be available almost immediately, while Mythic difficulty will be unlocked later:
| Date | Raid Unlock |
|---|---|
| March 17 | Voidspire (LFR Wing 1, Normal, Heroic), Dreamrift (LFR/Normal/Heroic) |
| March 24 | Voidspire (Story Mode, LFR Wing 2, Mythic), Dreamrift Mythic |
| March 31 | March on Quel’Danas (Normal / Heroic / Mythic), Voidspire LFR Wing 3 |
| April 7 | March on Quel’Danas Story Mode & LFR |
Conclusion
Raids are always a challenge for most players—complex mechanics, teamwork, and preparation time pose serious challenges for raiders. But it is precisely this challenge, as well as the unique rewards and experiences, that make raids so popular. Developers regularly update this content, and the new WoW Midnight expansion is no exception.
If players have difficulty completing raids, they can buy WoW raid carry. WoW raid boosting, regardless of the expansion, will allow you to complete Midnight raids or subsequent expansions quickly and painlessly, saving time and nerves, and most importantly, enjoying the loot of unique equipment and rewards.
